Kevin Gardner, MD
Kevin Gardner is a dual-trained Emergency Medicine and Critical Care physician who is the Director of Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine and faculty in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine.
He grew up in Homer, New York, and attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Pennsylvania for medical school. He then completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Highland Hospital in 2019. Following residency, he worked as an EM attending at UCSF and Eden Medical Center in the Bay Area.
He then returned to training and completed his critical care fellowship at Stanford University in 2022. Following fellowship, Kevin moved to the East Coast and worked as faculty in the Yale New Haven Health System at Bridgeport Hospital in the PCCM section and Emergency Department. Kevin returned to Highland and AHS in 2024 and continues to work in both the MICU and ED.
Kevin’s academic interests include medical education, resuscitation research, improving the interface between the ICU and Emergency Department, and wilderness medicine. Outside of the hospital, he likes to climb, mountaineer, and spend time outside with his spouse, Amelia, whom he met at Highland, and his daughter, Quinn.
